Supporting prevention, early detection, and better living
Established on 26 April 2000, the Diabetes Society of Maldives works nationwide to prevent and detect diabetes early and to support people managing the condition.
DSM became a member of the International Diabetes Federation in 2002 and delivers diabetes education, screening, treatment support, and youth empowerment programs.
A major part of this work is providing glucometers and blood glucose testing strips to children and young people living with Type 1 diabetes.

Dr. LEE Jong-Wook Memorial Prize (2013)
WHO recognized DSM for diabetes awareness, NCD prevention, and training local staff to provide counseling and treatment.
