About Us

Learn how DSM advances prevention, early detection, diabetes care, education, and advocacy throughout the Maldives.

About the Diabetes Society of Maldives

Established on 26 April 2000, the Diabetes Society of Maldives plays a leading role in diabetes prevention and awareness and in reducing diabetes-related illness and mortality in the Maldives. DSM works with national and international partners to improve access to care, strengthen self-management, and advocate for equitable diabetes services.

DSM became a member of the International Diabetes Federation in 2002 and has since implemented nationwide programs in diabetes education, screening, treatment support, and youth empowerment.

One of DSM’s major services is providing glucometers and blood glucose testing strips to children and young people living with Type 1 diabetes, helping families monitor glucose consistently and manage diabetes more safely.
