Project overview

First conducted in 2012, the DiabMaldives Youth Camp is held every two years for young people aged 13–25 living with Type 1 diabetes.

The five-day residential camp provides a safe, supportive environment for building self-management skills, confidence, and independence under trained healthcare professionals. Educational sessions, physical activities, peer support, and emotional well-being are central to the program.
